Natalie Yale

Natalie Yale is a first-year MA student in Religious Studies. Her research focuses on religion and US imperialism in the Caribbean, and she is particularly interested in Rastafari and the global Black power movement. With a background in Black studies and religion, she has the most experience working with humanities and social science papers, but she is excited by all sorts of academic and non-academic writing! Before coming to UVA, Natalie worked for three years as a writing consultant at the Writing and Speaking Center at Colgate University, where she also served as a pedagogical consultant for an introductory writing course. Outside of the Writing Center, she coaches youth competitive gymnastics and enjoys quilting.
